Sorry for the thread necro.

Just wondering if these are still being made.
The first batch I bought were amazing, but I've lost all but 2 of them now. I need more before they're gone forever :(

I don't think he can redirect his gunshot if his unit charged unless his new target is within .5". I might be wrong about that though.

He's pretty amazing imo. I might be looking at him through immortal host tinted glasses though.
With last stand and feat, he kills pretty much any warcaster in the game if he has 5 souls. Even after spending a soul to go incorp.

Yeah, Lylyth doesn't really want to see pMorghoul already, so this should be worse. I haven't played the matchup yet though. Circle, I'm less sure about.
All in al, I don't think one extoller will make a game changing difference in that matchup.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha dude. That's the exactly list, except I've been mostly playing around with 2x willbreakers instead of the extoller and 1x willbreaker, gobbers, and a feral as well.

I haven't really missed a screen tbh. You can generally stay out of charge range, and if they run to engage, molik and morghoul can clean them off.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like the thought process in this thread.
2x sentinels + willbreakers can be used to take on multiple different enemies via puppet master for harder a targets, or dropping 4x aoes against infantry.

A while ago, I proxied two of them with pMorghoul in a few games against a variety of opponents. They really shine against legion and circle, but I also found them to be great against mixed arms lists that didn't just spam loads of infantry.

As already mentioned, he really turns them up to 11. Possibly spd7 and pow 18 is just the beginning. Morghoul can feat to tag transfer targets for sentinel assassination, and admonition spreading around ashen veil is pretty amazing. One great trick I liked was to admonition move over towards anything living that charged molik, then he's def15, forcing re rolls, and can really screw with opponent's plans.

The tempo change they give can let you feat exactly when you want to, which can win games by itself, and the combination of arcing fire and molik's sidesteps means the enemy caster has to be incredibly cagey with placement. Do they avoid arcing fire, and stay within 1" of a model in front, giving molik an easy sidestep into them? Or do they keep a distance back to avoid sidesteps and get shot over the top by sentinels?

I think the skorne thing is zaal. Check out the shoulders. Also, he's really the ancestral guardian guy. Naaresh has only been around since domination. I can't see him going epic so quickly.

I saw it last night and loved it.

It is filmed in such a fun, almost kids movie-like way, that I was laughing so hard when all the violence was happening because it seemed so out of place, but really worked. Really enjoyable. Would probably go see again.

I always make sure not to change my list after games with pHaley, unless I'm specifically trying to create a list to play into her.
Not being able to enrage our beasts is pretty tilting and will give you a false impression of the list.

That said, I'm not sure your list really plays to Morghoul's strengths. I am interested to see you report back after more games with it, as it might be great.

Void Seer Mordikaar
-Basilisk Krea
-Cyclops Raider
Cataphract Cetrati (Leader and 5 Grunts)
-Tyrant Vorkesh
Nihilators (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Paingiver Beast Handlers (Leader and 3 Grunts)
Extoler Soulward

maybe something like this?

Looks solid to me. I'm not the most experienced with mordikaar though, especially the mammoth build. Maybe you can have a few games and report back?

A friend of mine, Rohan (paddles on here) ran something pretty awesome for a while. I can't remember what was in it though. I think his thread is on here somewhere.

And I am stealing this VS my regular Legion/Hordes opponents (although it does look two points over).  :P
Got royally spanked last night VS PVayl. The thought of putting that much ranged pressure on Legion early in the game makes me giddy. Using the feat to delay the alpha another turn for yet more shooting goodness. And whatever is left staggers forward into an Enrage and Abused Molik.

That's exactly how I played it. Be careful of rampager pulling beasts to a point where they can attack you outside of his control on feat or shoot at molik, but you have the brute, which helps, and hopefully they are only moving the sentinels which are spd3 :D Instead of just letting the feat buy you another round of shooting, push hard forward for scenario and make them trade something they don't want to trade.

After the feat is gone, incite will help make short work of your beasts in melee unless you have made a good trade or two. I'm really excited to run it some more when they come out.

I don't see how it's 2pts over though?

I got it working in the native iPhone podcast app. All you have to do is subscribe on iTunes on your pc/mac using the username and password Trent gave you, then you DL them individually, plug your phone in and drag them across into your phone in iTunes.

I love all of the Skorne insight. I recently got back into Skorne after a break and I am bringing them up to Templecon for some Iron Arena. My current pairing is X2 and Mordikaar, with more experience being with Mordikaar. Here are my lists:

Epic Xerxis
- Archidon (Bonded)
- Molik Karn
- Bronzeback
- Gladiator
- Krea
- Shaman
2x min handlers
min bonegrinders

- Mammoth
- krea
- raider
max nihilators
max keltarii (recent swap, was a second unit of nihilators)
min handlers
void spirit

I was looking for a possible swap into something new to take the mordikaar spot (i just want to try something new) and I was looking at Watt's pMak list or potentially an eHex list but would ike some advice on that.

I don't really have much experience with the mordikaar mammoth build, but your list seems fine. I really think you'd be mad not to take cetrati and vorkesh with mordikaar, though that's entirely dependent on what you plan on dropping it into.

I have been smashing X2 as well lately.
My list has been

- archidon (b)
- molik
- BB
- despoiler
- gladiator
Paingiver master tormentor
Gobber tinker
2x min pgbh

This list is amazingly fun to use, but it feels like it's missing something. I dropped the gladiator, gobber and pgmt for max reivers, but I'm not sure that is the right call either.
I love despoiler with him. He and the void spirit he spawns normally kills about 15pts worth of stuff in the games I've played. Then he dies, but I have the master tormentor or bronzeback ready to follow up depending on what they use to kill it. Sometimes it's even worth putting Sprint on him instead of train wreck if your opponent doesn't give him enough to trade.

At the moment, I'm using it as a pair for zaal out if tier.
It's a David Potts-inspired list that I think has great potential. I've only played it twice v bethayne and borka2 and both times, I got a bottom of two assassination, so I don't really know much more about it on the table, but the ability to trade up is pretty amazing on paper, and the Cyclopes have a ridiculous threat range and hitting power for combat lights.

- marketh
- Cyclops brute
- Cyclops brute
- Cyclops savage
- Cyclops raider
- gladiator
max nihilators
max immortals
Min Pgbh

Love this thread.
It has given me a bunch of things to try out.
Any updates for the fans?

Cheers. I had a couple of games with the pMorgs list above, and found it was really, really good.
Now I just have to wait until they come out :(
I played against pHaley dude spam and pVayl. I felt like I was pretty much in control in both games, which is something you don't often get from skorne.
One of the arguments about them is that they don't make our bad matchups any better, and that might prove to be true, but they certainly give us a new, very legit playstyle.

Haven't posted here for a while, but I've been busily trying different lists and still playing zaal tier. Still very happy with the eHexy list I'm pretty sure I posted above, but with the advent of the model spoiler for the sentinel, my thoughts of late have been going into how best to build a bugline.
I've decided just to start with two, and think pMorghoul is where it's at. Everyone everywhere is talking about running it with X2, but, though pretty good, I don't think it's the best way.

pMorgs should be absolutely ball breaking in the right matchup, incl. a while heap of legion. The list I'll be starting with should look something like this:

Master Tormentor Morghoul - WB: +7
-    Molik Karn - PC: 11
-    Aradus Sentinel - PC: 8
-    Aradus Sentinel - PC: 8
-    Titan Gladiator - PC: 8
-    Cyclops Raider - PC: 5
-    Cyclops Brute - PC: 5

Extoller Soulward - PC: 2
Mortitheurge Willbreaker - PC: 2
Mortitheurge Willbreaker - PC: 2
Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor - PC: 2

Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 3 Grunts: 2
Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 3 Grunts: 2

I also have this crazy idea that the raider might be better swapped with a shaman for rush and everything else he brings, but that is entirely dependant on how far forward the sentinels are finding themselves when they get stuck in for a defensive feat. Having never played AD heavies,  I have no idea how that (or base spd 3) will affect the line of engagement.

The basic idea is to remove infantry in the early game, feat defensively when the beasts/jacks come in with the help of admon and placing the beasts within walk and punch range if need be, but in the feat, so no charging, then mop up the heavies with abuse. I also like the synergy between arcing fire and molik's sidestep in conjunction with the no transfer part of the feat. It should have some pretty sweet assassination chops too.

Hey, I just listened to the cast today. Really stoked you liked the Raging Bull so much. I had the same reaction when I tried the warlock you sent. Pretty much everything from bootleg is up to the same standard. Great brewery.

Also: we don't get offended at all when people joke about us as long as you get it right.

At sporting events, everyone chants "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie. Oi, Oi, Oi."
I have no idea why. We just do.

And that whole shrimp on the Barbie thing has never made any sense to us. We eat prawns, not shrimp. I don't even really know what a shrimp is. Maybe it's just different words for the same thing, like how we call diapers "nappies", ketchup, "tomato sauce" and SUV's, "4x4s" or "4 wheel drives".

Yeah man. It's my end of uni trip. Hiking to Mt. Everest base camp. I'm gonna lug a stubby of either Sierra Nevada Hoptimum or a big imperial stout up the mountain with me to crack open when I get there. I'm gonna drink that badboy, while watching the sun rise over the horizon at just over 17,000 ft. It's gonna be glorious.

I've considered the same list but with Gladiator and min Handlers instead of Archidon and max Handlers.

So, what's the reasoning behind the Archidon?
I think Sprint is nice, but +2" and Pathfinder is often better imho.

there is a couple of reasons behind it.

Firstly, the way the list works, the first couple of turns, molik is doing clean up duties after the keltarii savagery past the front line and the cetrati are pushing forward with def ward up. He's not going for the mega long range targets. After the first 2-3 turns, the 13" threat is honestly enough.

Secondly, it's simple math. The extra threat range is fine, but he's going to want to take down heavy targets and run away, and this is much more likely with 7 attacks rather than 5. You could enrage to make up for the 2 less attacks, but then you can't come from a non-linear vector, and you also can't remove his fury, which leads me to point three.

Thirdly, molik is much more powerful if he can survive until the late game, and it makes him waaay more survivable if he can be forced for his full stack of rerolls if necessary. He can't do that if he runs back with fate walker.

Fourth, I like the Archidon for a bunker for makeda. This one is really just a matter of opinion, but I've always felt the Archidon's immunity to kd and hi def can situationally be a real deterrent for assassination runs.

The pathfinder is not the worst thing to lose on molik, as the TyCom can hand it out, and the Archidon has flight, and that has really been plenty so far.

Warmachine and Hordes Tactical / Re: Re: Skornehub

Don't let other players failures get you down. Play what you think is strong and keep practicing. Skorne has the tools to break through on the national level. I guarantee Pagani, Watt (if he came back to Skorne) and other big name players could do fine with Skorne if they gave it an honest go.

Oh I'm not letting anyone bring me down. Quite the opposite. I just meant that the episode was a real downer about skorne.
I actually picked up some trolls ages ago, and have been meaning to get some paint on them, but I am so obsessed with playtesting different skorne builds, that I never get around to it, and I'm ok with that :D

This pMakeda tier that I'm trying is so much fun, with three units with reform, jamming cetrati, and the savagery molik yoyo. All three of those things are nothing new, but having them all in the same list is really fun to play.

Warmachine and Hordes Tactical / Re: Skornehub
« on: October 24, 2014, 04:00:12 AM »
I like the way this thread has gone.
I see a lot of people get down on skorne because they're under powered, which I think might come from the lack of control aspects and feats that we have. It can be pretty demoralizing getting tk'd or rampagered around and having a high value piece removed trivially. I just listened to the latest chain attack, and hearing about Trevor's experience with skorne made me feel down for a minute too, even though my experience has been completely different. His opinions still stand because they have come from his experiences and play styles, but I don't feel like they really apply to me.
Skorne can feel like the faction of pushing shit uphill at times, but I actually enjoy that. Maybe I'm masochistic. It would certainly suit skorne's fluff :D
Zaal tier certainly doesn't feel like pushing shit uphill to me anyway, so maybe he's my breath of fresh air that I need every so often to keep it real.

Anyway, I really like that 6 titan chain gang list, but it does feel reactionary, like I'm rolling with punches that someone else is throwing my way. Strange. I really thought out would be the other way, but I haven't found that. Still a good list.

I decided to try out our new keltarii last night with a proxy. I knew they would party with makeda, so I built a list that I could pair with zaal, as I generally do. If you would rather take marketh in your other list, the tier becomes a pretty easy choice, apparently keltarii are included, and after my game, I think they are absolutely made for her. The advance move on the cetrati is just gravy.

In the game I had v irusk2 the keltarii ran first turn, and were def warded, cetrati got savagery, then that was swapped in turn 2. The keltarii were amazing in killing shield walled IFP. Reach, savagery, cma, and parry allowed at least one out off every 2 man cma to be in the back arc to ignore the shield bonus, then they reformed to block irusk2 out of the killbox on the bottom of 2 while the lightning striked molik cleared out the zone before cetrati set up shop blocking things from entering it. Min reivers flanking down each side also are a legitimate threat to heavies, small infantry detachments and back line support alike, as well as punching little holes for the keltarii to flood through. Needless to say, I'm going to be playing this list a few more times before going back to chain gang or the hexy2/mak2 list.
