The MOKAN Warmachine group hosted a WMW Qualifier and other events at a local con in Lee’s Summit (about 20 minutes from downtown KC). The 15 pt Highlander had 16 turn out, we had 29 for the qualifier including people from as far as Houston (thanks to billy and mike) and the Mangled Metal 1 list event had 14.
We ran the qualifier as a pseudo masters where we played three rounds then cut to top eight with single elimination so getting diced early on or having a strong opponent didn’t take you out of the running, your over all play and SoS was more important. The event went a total of six rounds with almost no hiccups.

How big is your play area and what are the boards made out of?
We had 22 tables set up and didn’t need them all. We were in a cafeteria of a high school and had a lot more room if it was needed. About half the boards are made out of 2′ x 4′ smooth hard wood 1/4″ thick and about half the boards were 1/4″ pink foam that we fold in half to store them. We should have all wooden boards by the next recruits if I remember correctly. Also should it be necessary we could probably have room for like 50+ players.
